I made this hat this past Halloween. I am a crafty college student and also apart of a business fraternity (co-ed). I had no idea it was a costume meeting so I made this owl hate and wore it at the meeting with a cute outfit.
First, I just measured my head's width to make sure I used enough fabric. First I traced the hat out, cut out front and back pieces, and then stitched them together. I used a thinner material for the back in case the hat needed some stretch. Then I cut out a triangle nose, the closed eyes (2 round circles and some eyelashes) and then a long strip of cloth. I fashioned the strip into a bow. After that I just used my hot glue gun to put the pieces on the hat. They stayed on nicely!
